Michael Friedman Fund
The Michael Friedman Fund has been established to honour the memory of a former JFSVI board member.
Money donated to the Michael Friedman *(obm) fund will go directly to assist families and seniors helping to provide subsidies for rent, food, medications, and other critical support.
Michael was a collaborative, steadfast, generous, conscientious, kind, thoughtful, realistic, reliable, patient and diligent contributor to Jewish Family Services of Vancouver Island and the Jewish community at large.
Michael Friedman joined the board of JFSVI in 2015. Through his diligence and steadfastness, he quickly helped lay the groundwork for two major JFSVI programs: a much-needed Food Subsidies Program and the Claims Conference Grants to assist Holocaust survivors in our community. Because of Michael’s efforts, JFSVI clients received an generous amount of funding and services from the Reparations Agreement of the German Government.
His kindness and the generosity he gave of his time went well beyond the call of duty, often forming close relationships with clients, assisting them in daily shopping, spending time with them, and advocating on their behalf.
Of those who knew him, Michael Friedman is remembered as both a thinker and a doer. He was realistic about what he could personally do and always delivered.
Please make a donation to the Michael Friedman Fund to honour the memory of this amazing individual who helped so many in our community.
