Our Mission

The mission of Jewish Family Services of Vancouver Island is to provide supportive services, primarily in food security and to reduce social isolation, thereby strengthening families and individuals within the context of their unique needs and traditions.

 

Our Core Values

❖ To be inclusive of all people, JFSVI does not discriminate based on age, race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, socioeconomic status, or disabilities.

❖ To fulfill the commandment, “Tikkun Olam”, ‘repairing the world’— by helping one person at a time.

❖ To follow the Talmud, a sacred text, to save one person is equal to saving an entire world.

❖ In keeping with Judaism’s highest form of charity, (when the giver and recipient do not know each other), to protect the privacy of those we serve, and to protect the anonymity of individual donors.
