Flu Fighter Sunshine Smoothie

From the Cookbook “Oh She Glows” from Angela Liddon

“I created this vibrant yellow smoothie when I had a nasty flu and was desperate to get better. Antioxidant-packed citrus fruit and fresh ginger unite to kick any cold or flu’s behind. If you’re feeling really desperate like I was, add a small amount of cayenne pepper to the mix. You’ll be breathing free and clear in no time! Word on the street is that cayenne pepper also boosts your metabolism.”

Makes 1 serving of a 1 and 3/4 cups (425 ml) smoothie

Prep time-10 minutes

Gluten free, nut free, oil free, raw ingredients, soy free, refined sugar free, grain free

1.  In a high-speed blender, combine all of the ingredients and blend until smooth. Drink and get ready to feel better in a flash.

Tips: if you’d like this smoothie served warm, omit the ice and keep-blending on high speed for a few minutes, until the heat of the blender motor warms the mixture. For even more nutritional power, try adding a bit of kale or spinach into the mix!
