Happy Passover from Jewish Family Services of Vancouver Island! We had two very successful Passover markets on April 7, and April 21. Both markets sold out of produce and  Passover items-which for our bottom line is terrific! A big thank-you to Leon Zetler for ordering all of our produce and Passover supplies! We also wish to thank Fernwood General Store for their support.

The Saanich Green Market is a service to our local communities to provide produce at wholesale prices to help fight inflation and the high cost of fresh food. JFSVI orders from a wholesale distributor out of Vancouver and from farms on Vancouver Island. We have "out of pocket" expenses for every market as we hire musicians, pay rent, buy supplies and other additional costs. Most of these expenses have been covered by community donations and grants. To reduce costs, 90% of our program is run by volunteers. JFSVI is actively seeking out other sources of support.

Today I spoke with a lady who is one of our regular customers. She expressed her appreciation and said;  "I love the great prices, but the reason I keep coming back is the wonderful atmosphere with the fantastic music and everyone socializing over hot soup!
